Bengaluru based author and architectural journalist Apurva Bose Dutta, graduated in architecture from Chandigarh College of Architecture in 2005, and obtained a diploma in freelance journalism from the UK. Apurva has been a part of the core editorial teams of Indias leading architectural magazines. Her professional experience includes her decade long work and collaborations with multiple national and international design publications, publishing houses, building and design firms and organisations, and web portals. She enjoys exploring new subjects in design, comprehending their ideologies and bringing forth architecture, that makes a difference and needs to be noticed.
Apurva has been responsible for conceptualising the first magazine issue in India, dedicated to architectural journalism. Through her various initiatives, she has been a pioneer in increasing the visibility of the subject of architectural journalism in the country. She has received awards from the architecture and building industry for Excellence in Architectural Journalism 2015, Creative Excellence in Architectural Journalism 2010 and A3F award in Architectural Journalism 2009. In 2016, she was invited by the Australian Government to represent the Indian delegation as a part of an international media visit of architectural writers in Melbourne. Her book, ARCHITECTURAL VOICES OF INDIA. A Blend of Contemporary and Traditional Ethos, celebrating the diversity of Indian architects and architecture was published in Aug 2017.
